What We Do

Our products and services, which have been licensed by more than 300 companies worldwide, include Microsoft® Visual Basic® for Applications (VBA) and Summit BasicScript™. Summit is Microsoft's main contact and support arm for Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications, and beginning in April 2006, assumed the same role for Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications (VSTA)

Our employees  provide comprehensive licensing, marketing, and integration support services to our customers. 

In addition to providing ISVs and corporate developers with embeddable technologies, we deliver a wide range of training, consulting, and other value-added services that help our customers maximize return on their investments in our products.

History

Since its inception in 1991, Summit Software has established itself as a leader in developing, marketing, and supporting embedded BASIC technologies. From 1991 through 1996, we focused on our BasicScript language engine and tools, which has been integrated into the products of more than 120 independent software vendors (ISVs). In June 1996, Summit Software entered into an agreement with Microsoft to sell Microsoft VBA and related value-added technology and services.  Summit continues to sell and support Microsoft VBA. In April 2006, Summit Software entered into an agreement with Microsoft to sell Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Application (VSTA).

Our Customers

Today, we have more than 300 customers who have chosen to license VBA or BasicScript including Autodesk, Corel, Intel, Micrografx, SAP, Siemens, and Symantec. There are now over 125 members in the Microsoft VSIP program, including: Borland, Corel, ComponentOne, Compuware, Fujitsu, Rational, Red Gate Software, and Wise Solutions

Our customers operate in more than 100 countries, and ship annually over $2.5 billion in commercial software applications embedded with the Microsoft technologies we support or with our own Summit BasicScript.
